Dear Aldersgaters!
A new season has begun! We celebrated Rally Sunday on September 11 with a backpack blessing, presentation of Bibles to three third graders, and ministry fair in the IDE Center with 32 ministries/service opportunities represented. It’s time to rebuild and grow Aldersgate Church into the post-pandemic future.
It’s a new journey that we have never experienced. But we can do it when we put our trust in God and we do it together by:
· Attending worship service regularly. If you can’t, join in worship online.
· Participating in faith growth programs.
· Serving and supporting church ministries and mission/outreach
opportunities.
I would like to invite you to some exciting events in the coming months.
World Communion Sunday – October 2. For the first time since the break
of Covid-19, you will be invited to the Communion rail to receive Communion. Of course, you can receive Communion at your seat.
Rummage Sale – October 6-8. Our Rummage Sale is a success each year
because of the amazing work of our volunteers. Sign up to help pre-sale, during the sale and baking. Don’t forget to clean out those closets and donate.
Fall Work Day – October 15, 9am-1pm. Everyone is invited to work for the church and enjoy some fellowship.
FOOD-FRIEND-Z AUCTION – November 4, 6pm, IDE Center. Come for dinner, fellowship and then bid on homemade baked treats and gift certificates to
area restaurants. Proceeds will be split between our support of Ministry Shares (Apportionment) and our Mortgage. See page 4 for more details.
All-Church Stewardship Workshop – November 12, 9-11am. Rev. Dr. Ann Kemper of Covenant UMC will lead us in deepening our understanding of generosity and the blessings of giving our first fruits to God. She will be joined by Josh Oteme, who will interpret for our African community. Sign up for this event on the Opportunity Board or on your Connection Card.
Aldersgaters! Let’s be the church together!
Blessings,
Pastor Sung Ho
