As we enter the summer months of July and August, I pray that this letter finds you in good health and spirits. It is my heartfelt
desire to share with you some reflections on the theme of sanctification and becoming like Christ, as we journey together in our faith.

Drawing inspiration from the teachings of John Wesley, we are reminded of the call to grow and mature as disciples of Jesus Christ. In Philippians 2:12, the apostle Paul encourages us to “continue to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.” This implies an ongoing process of sanctification, where we are transformed to be more like Christ in our thoughts, actions, and character.

Allow me to share a personal experience that has deepened my understanding of growth and maturity. This past April, I had the privilege of witnessing a bird’s nest attached to my front door, with several eggs nestled inside. Over the course of a few weeks, I observed the diligent care of the mother bird as she nurtured her eggs. And eventually, the joyful sight of baby birds growing healthier with each passing day.

This observation provided me with a powerful insight. Just like those baby birds, we, as disciples of Jesus Christ, are called to grow healthy and vibrant. We are invited to shed the burdens of issues, worries, and problems that often hinder our spiritual growth. In the process of sanctification, we must rely on the transformative work of the Holy Spirit within us.

As we enter this summer season, it is essential that we prioritize not only our physical and emotional well-being but also the care of our spirit and our deep relationship with God. Let us commit ourselves to daily practices that cultivate spiritual growth and intimacy with God. Set aside time for prayer, meditation, and studying God’s Word. Seek His guidance and wisdom in all aspects of life.

Additionally, I encourage you to immerse yourselves in the beauty of nature, which God has created for our enjoyment and spiritual nourishment. Take leisurely walks in parks, sit by the seaside, or venture into the mountains. Use this time to marvel at the wonders of creation, to find solace and inspiration in the vastness of the natural world.

Furthermore, make it a priority to spend meaningful and precious moments with your loved ones. Engage in activities that promote love, joy, and unity within your family. Create memories that will last a lifetime and strengthen the bonds of fellowship.

May this summer be a season of renewal and deepening of our relationship with God. May His grace and peace be upon you and your families, guiding you in all that you do.

With love and blessings,

Yohang
