As we enter the month of November, we continue our Stewardship Program, culminating with the celebration of Stewardship Sunday on November 24th. This season invites us to pause and reflect on our lives; to remember the many blessings we have received from God, and to express our gratitude to the Lord.
Personally, I find this time of year to be a meaningful opportunity to consider how we show our thankfulness. It’s so important to express our gratitude — not only is it a powerful act of faith, but it also brings joy to our hearts. We all know from our own experiences that showing appreciation and waiting for an unexpected response is often one of life’s sweetest moments.
Allow me to share a small story. Recently, I prepared two small goody bags for the lawn care workers. I wanted to express my appreciation for their hard work. Before even giving them the gifts, I felt a deep sense of joy imagining their responses. I realized again that even small gestures of appreciation can brighten someone’s day and bring smiles all around.
This story reminds me of how our expressions of gratitude — no matter how small — can have a powerful effect. In this season of thankfulness, I encourage all of us to remember the blessings we have received from God and to offer our heartfelt thanks to Him. Just as we delight in the joy of giving to others,
we can imagine the delight our gratitude brings to God.
As we celebrate Stewardship month, let’s allow our hearts to be filled with joy, excitement, and thankfulness, expecting to see God’s smile as we give back with grateful hearts.
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Yohang Chun
