Christ is risen! Alleluia!
We celebrated Easter a couple of weeks ago. But Easter is not over. The Easter season has just begun. Jesus is calling us to live Resurrection Faith. You remember that the risen Christ appeared to his disciples and commissioned them to live Resurrection Faith and to witness to the risen Christ.
The Aldersgate slogan for 2022 is “Live a Life of Faith.” Let me remind you of what Paul said about faith – Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
Nothing will be impossible with God (Luke 1:37). Let us live a life of faith – the faith in God with whom nothing is impossible. A couple of weeks ago we witnessed to it – the power of God who raised Jesus from the grave. Let us live Resurrection Faith.
In May, Aldersgate Church will run a pledge campaign for debt reduction. As we look back on what God has done for Aldersgate, we are convinced that nothing is impossible with God. When the vision for a new building emerged, it seemed impossible. But they went with their faith – with the assurance and conviction of things not seen but hoped for. There were times of fear and doubt, but we held onto our faith in God with whom nothing is impossible.
Thanks be to God! God has led us this far. God, who took the Israelites out of Egypt to bring them to the Promised Land, has led to free us from the bondage of the mortgage, our Egypt. Now we are about to reach our Jordan River. The Promised Land is within our reach. Let us join and participate together in this campaign that will lead us to cross the Jordan River.
As we are about to cross the Jordan River, it’s time to think about our Promised Land. It is time to explore God’s vision for Aldersgate Church. Jesus said, “Will you gain anything if you win the whole world but lose your life?” – Matthew 16:26
God said to Joel, “Afterward I will pour out my Spirit on EVERYONE. Your sons and daughters will proclaim my message. Your old people will have dreams, and your young people will see visions.” (Joel 2:28)
It is the time for our younger people and older people to come together to dream God’s dreams and see God’s visions for Aldersgate Church – fill the sanctuary and fill the Ide Center with children and youth!
