Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! As we enter this season of Thanksgiving and Christmas, I want to share a joyful memory from my family. Joyce and I always loved preparing Christmas gifts for our children, Melissa and Joshua. Before Christmas Day, we carefully chose the gifts, hid them in the basement, and after the Christmas Eve service — when they were asleep, waiting for Santa Claus — we wrapped the gifts with excitement and love. On Christmas morning, their happy faces when they found the gifts under the Christmas tree and their big smiles when they opened them brought so much joy to us. I believe many of you as parents or grandparents know this same happiness. Watching our children or grandchildren’s excitement during Christmas is truly one of the best blessings of this season. Through this, I remember a very important truth: “Giving is more joyful than receiving.” This is what God showed us first. God gave us His greatest gift, His Son, Jesus Christ, because He loves us so much. Through Jesus, we receive hope, love, peace, and salvation. As we prepare for Christmas, let us think about how we can give to others. It does not need to be a big gift. Sometimes giving our time, love, or kindness can make a big difference for someone who is lonely or in need. May this season be full of God’s joy and peace for you and your family.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Yohang Chun
