The Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (RAIHN) in March 2021 has been renamed Family Promise of Greater Rochester (FPGROC). It is a not-for-profit, interfaith, culturally-competent organization of faith communities that helps homeless families achieve sustainable independence by supporting them with tailored services including shelter, food and personalized case management thru diverse network of caring volunteers. Community Dinner: People are needed to serve as greeters, to set up, to serve, and to clean up. Signup sheets are on the bulletin board in the Church’s gathering space. Join us as we feed our neighbors each month.
Youth: Check out the Youth Group Bulletin Board located next to the office for updates on youth events. Adult volunteers are always welcome to help lead Bible studies, chaperone events, or transport youth to various gatherings. Journey Home is looking for people with a desire to care with a loving heart and warm hands. They offer training/orientation to help facilitate this care. English Village School Partnership: Read with a child during their lunch hour and/or provide a six-week, once a week after school club (3:30-4:15PM). Clubs can be anything a 2nd grader might enjoy.
Mission Share Outreach Center includes pregnancy and postpartum classes, parenting classes, food bank, clothing cupboard and Teen Challenge programs. The center is open for clients every Tues., Wed. and Thurs. from 9 to 3 and by appointment. There are opportunities to serve doing hours open as well as other times set up with Mission Share director. Activities include assisting clients in food bank and clothing cupboard, stocking clothes cupboard and food bank, cleaning facilities, computer input, etc. Contact the Director at 585-368-0744 or msocdirector@gmail.com for more information. Communications & Social Media Team: We are looking for PowerPoint pros, active Instagram/SnapChat/Twitter users, article writers (for occasional use on blog, Facebook, etc. – if you can write but aren’t a blogger or don’t post to Facebook, we can work with that, it’s the writing we want.). Also, if you want to learn or improve your technical skills in the above or audio, video, or social media, we are collecting info for future classes.
